Tutta la rete dei social di Zuckerberg sta avendo problemi molto seri in tutto il mondo. Il problema sembra essere l’irraggiungibilità dei siti web tramite il nome di dominio. Un sedicente dipendente di Facebook, su reddit, ha scritto esattamente queste parole poco prima che il suo messaggio e il account venissero cancellati:
As many of you know, DNS for FB services has been affected and this is likely a symptom of the actual issue, and that’s that BGP peering with Facebook peering routers has gone down, very likely due to a configuration change that went into effect shortly before the outages happened (started roughly 1540 UTC). There are people now trying to gain access to the peering routers to implement fixes, but the people with physical access is separate from the people with knowledge of how to actually authenticate to the systems and people who know what to actually do, so there is now a logistical challenge with getting all that knowledge unified. Part of this is also due to lower staffing in data centers due to pandemic measures.
Come dicevamo, il messaggio e anche l’intero account dell’utente sono stati cancellati pochi minuti dopo. Non sappiamo se sia stato l’utente stesso a farlo o se sia intervenuta una manina dall’alto. Probabilmente nel messaggio erano contenute informazioni che i piani alti di Facebook/WhatsApp/Instagram non hanno gradito divulgare. E’ molto probabile che qualcuno verrà licenziato in tronco dall’azienda, che ultimamente si sta distinguendo per metodi non esattamente democratici nelle sue policy interne ed esterne.
